Verb conjugation: negative

The negative tense — as the name implies — negates a given verb. Depending on the context it can be either used to specify an action which does not happen in general, or that will not happen in a specific instance. For example:

わたしはりんごをべない。
(1) I don't eat apples.
(2) I won't eat an apple.
