Verb conjugation: conditional (〜たら)

The conditional 〜たら form of a verb is a conditional form primarily used as an equivalent to English's "if X happens then Y". For example:

りんごをべたらぬ。
I'll die if I eat an apple.

It is similar to the 〜えば conditional form, however unlike the 〜えば form it is not primarily used for suggestions, although it can be used as such. For example:

りんごをべたらどう?
How about eating an apple?
