Verb conjugation: conditional (〜えば)

The conditional 〜えば form of a verb is a conditional form primarily used to make suggestions. For example:

りんごをべればどう?
How about eating an apple?

It is similar to the 〜たら conditional form, however unlike the 〜たら form it's usually used only for making suggestions, and not as a general purpose "if X happens then Y".
