① 蛍光を用いた照明の一種。特に、ガラス管に封入された低圧水銀蒸気の発する紫外線を、蛍光塗料で可視光線に変換する蛍光管を指す。白熱電球よりもエネルギー効率が良く、広く一般に利用されている。
