① 〔占星術〕 黄道十二宮のこと。獣帯を30度ずつ12等分したその各々の区域。かつてその各区域に対応していた星座に基づく名前が付けられている。黄道座標に基づく惑星の位置表示ならびにアスペクト（惑星間の相対的な位置関係）を示すために使われる。② 〔天文学〕《廃語》 黄道十二宮に基づいて天球を12等分したもの。黄道座標に基づく恒星の位置表示に使われた。
